本校資管系洪維強副教授於2009年5月以Electric load forecasting by support vector model為題於Applied Mathematical Modelling國際期刊第33卷第5期所發表的論文，因受到高度引用，於2012年5月榮獲Elsevier出版社評為2007-2011年高他引論文獎(Top Cited Articles 2007-2011)。

Elsevier出版社從2007年起為旗下每本期刊設置評選委員會甄選最高他引論文獎(most cited paper awards)。這個獎項採用與論文品質高度相關的他人引用次數(the number of citations)來彰顯評選的目的與透明化價值。希望能確認期刊的每位作者都受到公平與機會均等的評選待遇，從而激勵每位作者能戮力發表作品。
